Abstract   In India more than seventy percent (70%) of the population is poor and lives in rural areas, they face issues in the access of credit from formal financial institutions like banks, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Co-operatives and Microfinance Institutions. Financial inclusion is said to be a main driver of our vision of an inclusive society for the progress and development of the rural populations. For making each individual financially literate, Government of India has launched different types of social security schemes for the betterment of the people like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. This empirical analysis uses structured questionnaire for collection of data and information has been used in identifying different factors that contribute in raising awareness among self-help group members regarding social security schemes. Result of the study shows that six main factors emerge which contribute in raising awareness among members; are Financial Literacy, Financial Enclosure, Financial Upliftment, Economic Development, Saving Enhancement and Banking Advancement.
