Abstract | Learning and teaching have been part of human civilization since time immemorial; it has seen changes across ages and generations- presenting an overwhelming array of methods and patterns. From cramming up 'knowledge' delivered by the guru/ustad/teacher in verbatim to the times looking for innovation and creativity as proof of learning- we have evolved at a tremendous level. No wonder, this jump from human to technological medium of pedagogy is ruling the roost now. The emergent online learning has brought a new dawn - causing a new leap of human evolution. Though it was in practice since the last two decades of the previous century in various parts of the world, the pandemic made this pedagogy the new leveller. All countries and all cultures have adopted it in different degrees, while some are trying to catch up; many others have resorted to the online pedagogy as the only mode of learning. These places including India keep glowing and shimmering with distribution and sharing of knowledge round the clock. But there are some deep patches of darkness looming large as well. Technology had democratised learning for the first time ever, yet the opportunities have reached people selectively. This paper is based on secondary data and the study is descriptive in nature. The data has been analysed through the SWOC model and traces out the benefits and challenges of Online Learning Pedagogy. |
